Novum Testamentum Graece (Nestle-Aland) NA28

28th, revised edition 2012. With Greek-English Dictionary by Barclay M. Newman. Blue hardcover.

The Novum Testamentum Graece (»Nestle-Aland« or »NA28«) is the standard and globally preeminent reference among Greek New Testament editions. In the most recent revision, emphasis was placed on the critical apparatus the structure of which was simplified. For instance, the combination of variants using »sed« or »et« and the distinction between consistently cited witnesses of the first and second order have been removed. In addition, the readings of the newly discovered Papyri 117-127 are listed for the first time, which opens up interesting perspectives particularly for the Acts of the Apostles. In the Catholic Epistles, the edition was brought into line with the »Editio Critica Maior«. This resulted in more than 30 modifications in the main text and in a critical apparatus that has been completely recompiled for this section and includes a new selection of witnesses and variants. The cross-references in the margin have also been systematically revised and supplemented mainly with references to early Jewish literature.

The Novum Testamentum Graece (»Nestle-Aland«) is edited by the Institute for New Testament Textual Research (INTF). The INTF is a university institute in Münster (Germany). Its general task is research on the textual history of the Greek New Testament and the reconstruction of its initial text. The INTF also edits the UBS Greek New Testament and the Editio Critica Maior for the German Bible Society.

The concise Greek-English dictionary by Barclay M. Newman has been designed especially for use with the UBS Greek New Testament and the Novum Testamentum Graece. The different meanings of each Greek word are given in today’s English and are arranged according to their usage in the New Testament. In addition, the edition features cross-references between related Greek words.
